Oniise Payment Protection & Payments Policy

How Oniise manages payment authorization, temporary payment holds, provider payouts, refunds, wallets, enterprise invoicing, and financial security.

Last updated: 1 July 2026

Payment Protection: Payments are processed through licensed payment partners. Clients always see the full breakdown before confirming. Funds remain protected during active bookings and are released only after services are delivered.

This Payment Protection & Payments Policy explains how Oniise manages payment authorization, temporary payment holds, provider payouts, refunds, wallets, enterprise invoicing, and financial security.

The purpose of this policy is to protect Clients, Verified Providers, and Oniise by ensuring payments are processed securely and released only after services are delivered according to platform standards.

Oniise uses a Payment Protection system. When a Client books a service:

  • The payment is authorized
  • Funds may be temporarily held
  • The booking is secured
  • Payment is released according to the booking outcome

This protects both Clients and Verified Providers. Payment Protection is not a bank account and does not create ownership rights over temporarily held funds.

  • Security — Payments are processed through licensed payment partners.
  • Transparency — Clients always know service price, VAT, platform fees, discounts, promotions, and total payable amount before confirming a booking.
  • Fairness — Verified providers receive payment only after arrival, work commencement, successful completion, and dispute review (if required).
  • Protection — Funds remain protected during active bookings.
  • Compliance — Oniise complies with applicable financial regulations, AML requirements, tax laws, and payment network rules.

Depending on the country, Oniise may support:

  • Visa, Mastercard, American Express (where available)
  • Mobile Money — MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, M-Pesa, approved local wallets
  • Digital Wallets — Apple Pay, Google Pay (where supported)
  • Bank Transfer — for enterprise customers
  • Enterprise Invoice Billing
  • Oniise Wallet Credits and Promotional Credits

Available payment methods vary by region. Additional payment methods may be introduced over time.

Oniise currently launches in Rwanda. Supported display currencies include:

  • Primary Currency: Rwandan Franc (RWF)
  • Reference Currency: United States Dollar (USD)

Prices may be displayed in both currencies for transparency. Actual billing occurs in the payment currency selected during checkout. Exchange rates may fluctuate and are indicative only.

For standard bookings:

  • Client submits booking
  • Payment method is authorized
  • Booking becomes confirmed
  • Funds may be temporarily held
  • Provider performs service
  • Booking is completed
  • Payment is released
  • Provider receives payout according to payout schedule

When a booking is made, Oniise may verify the payment method, reserve the estimated booking amount, perform fraud checks, and verify billing information. Authorization does not always mean funds have been captured.

Oniise may temporarily hold payment for:

  • Active bookings and ongoing disputes
  • Fraud investigations and identity verification
  • Compliance reviews and suspected unauthorized activity

During a payment hold, providers cannot withdraw the funds, and clients cannot reverse the payment outside approved processes. Temporary holds help protect all parties.

Payment is normally released when the service has been completed, completion has been confirmed, no dispute has been raised, and payment verification succeeds.

Payments will not be released before work begins, simply because the provider requests payment, outside Oniise, or through cash arrangements intended to bypass the platform.

Where required by law, VAT and applicable taxes are calculated during checkout. The checkout page clearly displays:

  • Service subtotal
  • Platform fees (if applicable)
  • VAT
  • Total payable amount

Enterprise invoices include tax breakdowns where required.

Verified Providers receive payouts after service completion, successful verification, dispute clearance, and fraud review (if applicable). Payout timing varies by payment provider, banking partner, Mobile Money provider, and country.

Payouts may be delayed because of disputes, fraud reviews, identity verification, missing tax information, expired licenses, compliance investigations, or payment processor delays.

Enterprise organizations may use monthly invoices, subscription billing, retainers, scheduled payments, and approved purchase orders. Enterprise payment terms are governed by the Enterprise Terms.

Wallet balances may come from refunds, promotions, referral rewards, service credits, and manual adjustments. Wallet balances may only be used where permitted. Promotional credits generally cannot be exchanged for cash unless required by law.

Bookings may be cancelled if card authorization fails, Mobile Money payment fails, bank transfer fails, payment expires, or fraud detection blocks payment. Clients may retry payment using another payment method.

False chargebacks may result in permanent suspension.

If a payment is disputed through the card issuer, Oniise may pause payouts, investigate the booking, collect evidence, request documentation, and suspend accounts involved in fraud.

Oniise works with licensed payment processors. Oniise does not store full payment card details on its own servers. Sensitive payment information is processed securely by approved payment partners using industry security standards.

Transactions may be reviewed for stolen payment methods, unusual booking behavior, fake identities, account takeovers, suspicious IP addresses, repeated failed payments, and money laundering indicators. Fraud prevention protects everyone on the platform. Transactions may be delayed while additional verification is completed.

Oniise may charge platform service fees. Fees may vary depending on service category, enterprise plans, promotions, and country. Fees are displayed before payment.

Users can access receipts, invoices, payment history, refunds, and credits through their Oniise account.

If payment issues occur, users should first contact Oniise Support. Oniise will investigate booking records, communication history, timestamps, uploaded evidence, and payment records.

Oniise may update this policy as payment systems evolve or regulations change. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
